Pump Your Air Mattress

It is really true that sleeping on an air mattress is heavenly. You see those attractive advertisements on TV and cannot help admiring the beauty and the obvious comfort of an air mattress. However, have you stopped to consider how it gets inflated? Do you blow into it like you would be into a balloon? Do you apply an automatic inflator? Or, is there any other means to have it inflated?

An air mattress would render it totally useless without a pump, because obviously you would not be able to inflate it and then use it. Therefore, in order to get pleasure from your air mattress, you definitely need a pump to inflate it. The pumps are divided into two major categories: electric pumps and manual pumps. Both types have their own advantages and disadvantages.

The manual pumps are good for camps, outdoor picnics, beaches and the like where there is no electricity source (unless you carry your own generator). Here, an electric pump would be of no use, it would be a pity if you bring your air mattress. Consequently, in these circumstances the manual pump is the right pump for you.

The manual pumps come in two types: one is operated by hand, and another operated by foot. Both the manual pumps are slow and tiring, but at least they can fill up your air mattress and give you a very good sleep.

The electric pump is very convenient for indoors, where easily access to electricity is not a problem. It can be used for when guests visit suddenly, or when the children have their friends over. Electric pumps are very fast and effortless to use. They will enjoy the sleep after you inflate the air mattress. And all the work will be done by the electric pump automatically.

Some mattresses come with their own pumps as largess (usually automated and electric). However, if they don't, you will have to buy one in a hurry. Sometimes the air mattresses would include a cheap pump that is almost always manual. If this is the case, keep this manual pump for outdoor camping and purchase an electric pump for the regular use.

In the meantime, be on the lookout for a good manual inflating pump so that you do not always depend on a cheap one (you never know how it will function, or whether it will function at all when really put to the test). It is always great to keep manual pump good and guaranteed when you be outdoor with an air mattress, because you never know what will happen.
